On November 19, the 3rd China South Asia Cooperation Forum was opened in Kunming with the theme of "keeping watch and helping each other and promoting regional common development".

Wang Yubo, vice secretary of the provincial party committee and governor of the province, attended the opening ceremony of the forum and delivered a speech, welcoming domestic and foreign guests. In recent years, taking advantage of the high-quality construction of the "the Belt and Road", Yunnan has accelerated the construction of China's radiation center facing South Asia and Southeast Asia, and expanded exchanges and cooperation with South Asian countries. We hope to take the forum as an opportunity to further deepen understanding and mutual trust with other countries, strengthen the role of mechanism platform, deepen trade and investment cooperation, enhance the leading effect of projects, and continue to promote exchanges and mutual learning, so as to add new impetus to mutually beneficial cooperation between China and South Asian countries. Wu Jianghao, a member of the Party Committee and Assistant Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said in his speech that China and South Asian countries are friendly neighbors and development partners to each other, and are a community of shared future. In the face of global challenges, China has always stood firmly with South Asian countries to help each other and move forward side by side. China is willing to work with South Asian countries to promote the implementation of the global development initiative and the global security initiative, and jointly build the "the Belt and Road" with high quality. China is willing to work with all South Asian countries to achieve development and progress in the process of modernization. Yunnan is a bridge and link between China and South Asia. We look forward to Yunnan continuing to transform its regional advantages into dividends of development and cooperation, and making new and greater contributions to deepening the relations between China and South Asian countries.

Jiang Jiang, Vice President of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, said in his online speech that the China South Asia Cooperation Forum has made positive contributions to creating a new situation of local exchanges between China and South Asian countries and boosting all-round cooperation between the two sides. Both China and South Asian countries are developing countries. They can continue to deepen cooperation in areas such as sharing poverty reduction experience, infrastructure construction, scientific and technological innovation, and work together to promote regional common development.
