The theme of this year's conference is "City is the source of human inspiration", focusing on how to improve the quality of life of urban residents and provide innovative intelligent solutions for building a more convenient, safe, efficient and sustainable city.

At the conference, participants shared their experience in smart city construction and sought new opportunities and challenges in urban construction. People can see a series of urban solutions based on new technologies, such as remote control delivery vehicles, flying taxis, intelligent lamp posts, etc. at different booths.

The CEO of the Global Smart City Conference, Ugo Valenti, said that cities around the world are "making efforts to provide better services to citizens and improve their quality of life". Although this will be a gradual process, "we are on the right path".

Chengdu, China, won the "World Smart City Award · Livable and Inclusive Award" in 2021. Liu Xiaoliu, the executive vice mayor of Chengdu, delivered a speech at the opening ceremony on the 15th by video link. She sincerely invited organizations and enterprises from all over the world to cooperate more deeply and extensively with Chengdu.

The Global Smart City Conference was founded by the Barcelona Municipal Government in 2011 and supported by UN Habitat, the World Economic Forum, the World Bank and other international organizations and institutions. It is a world-renowned theme conference focusing on the smart development and transformation of cities and society. Cisco and other famous technology enterprises also set up booths at the conference. The total number of on-site participants this year is expected to exceed 20000.
